New Kansas City fried chicken and seafood restaurant has opened
Fried chicken wings, fried shrimp, fried catfish, fried tilapia.
Readers might be noticing a trend with the cuisine at KC Fry Bros. The city’s newest fast food restaurant offers deep-fried chicken and fish at 1419 E. 55th St., near Rockhurst University.
Owner Hamza Khan, who hails from Pakistan, recently opened the spot with his business partner.
Khan previously worked for J’s Fish and Chicken — a local spot with multiple area locations — when he got the idea to open his own spot.
“So far it’s a good response,” Khan said.
His meals are available for carryout and delivery through DoorDash.
If all goes well, he hopes to open locations across the metro.
Some other items on the menu: mac and cheese, coleslaw, jalapeño poppers, gizzards and cheesecake.
KC Fry Bros is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 10:30 a.m. to midnight Sundays.
