Aixois — a French restaurant that’s been in Kansas City for nearly 25 years — has closed its Leawood location.

The 11570 Ash St. spot in Park Place permanently closed a few weeks ago after more than a year in operation, employees told The Star.

While a sign on the outside of the restaurant says it’s “closed for maintenance,” its social media pages indicate it’s closed for good.

Simon Seoun, a former chef at Aixois and co-owner of the Johnson County spot, left the restaurant and opened Simon’s Pasta in Shawnee at the beginning of the year.

Emmanuel and Megan Sparks Langlade first opened Aixois in 2001, named after Emmanuel’s home: Aix-en-Provence in the south of France.

It’s still open in the Crestwood Shops at 251 E. 55th St.

The restaurant serves quiche, oysters, duck leg, pates fraiches and other classic French dishes.

Before Aixois moved in, the Park Place building was home to Pig & Finch. It closed in August 2022 after nearly a decade.
