Johnson County breakfast restaurant closes permanently. ‘Tremendous support’
Another Broken Egg has closed its Prairie Village location — for good this time, it seems.
The company confirmed in an email to The Star on Friday that it had shut down the 5358 95th St. location in Meadowbrook Village.
The company said the decision was made after a “strategic assessment of the restaurant’s operations.”
“While we are saddened by the Prairie Village location closing, we deeply appreciate the tremendous support Another Broken Egg Cafe has received from the community and the opportunity it has had to serve those in Prairie Village over the years,” the company said.
The Overland Park location remains open at 13386 Metcalf Ave. In late 2023, it closed temporarily before reopening months later under new management.
In January 2024, the Prairie Village location also closed temporarily. It, too, reopened a few months later, with the company saying it was under new ownership.
Based in Florida, Another Broken Egg has more than 70 restaurants in 14 states.
It serves breakfast, brunch and lunch items, including Benedict burgers, chocolate-stuffed waffles and its popular cinnamon roll French toast.
The chain opened its first Kansas City area location in Overland Park in 2020. The Prairie Village spot opened in mid-2023.
