Kansas City craft cafe will open a new spot in a popular shopping center
A Kansas City “restaurant-style” crafting studio is expanding after just a year in business.
ADHDIY Craft Cafe — a shop serving snacks and a full “menu” of crafts to choose from — will open a spot in Zona Rosa at 7111 NW 86th Terrace.
The cafe will celebrate its second location with a three-day-long grand opening starting Sept. 12.
Founders Austin Mosier and Tristan Carlson opened the first space in the West Bottoms at 1501 W. 12th St. early last year.
The concept seeks to provide a non-intimidating creative experience where guests can select their crafting adventure from a list and have their supplies delivered table-side (much like a waiter would deliver a meal).
The craft menu includes macramé, stamp carving, painting and kokedama.
Some locally sourced food and beverages are also available.
The new location boasts of a larger selection of retail art supplies and to-go craft kits so guests can enjoy being creative at home.
“From the beginning, ADHDIY was about making creativity approachable and fun. No pressure, no perfection,” Mosier said in a written statement. “This second space gives us even more ways to invite a broader audience into the joy of trying something new.”
The space is taking over a more than 4,500 square foot shop once home to Victoria’s Secret PINK.
Other tenants at the Northland shopping center include Bravo! Italian Kitchen, American Eagle Outfitters, Barnes & Noble and more.
