Fast-growing Betty Rae’s Ice Cream is opening yet another Kansas City area location — this time in Lee’s Summit.
The location will open next month in the Cosentino’s Price Chopper grocery store at 251 SW Greenwich Drive.
The brand said it chose the Lee’s Summit spot after “listening to customer requests and ongoing social media comments,” according to a release from the company.
This will be the Betty Rae’s eighth area location.
The spot will have an outdoor walk-up window. It’s moving into a former Starbucks within the store and will sell the same 26 core flavors available at all its locations, which include vanilla bean, lavender honey, ooey gooey butter cake and cereal milk.
It will also offer monthly, rotating flavors like matcha and bee’s knees.
The rapidly growing brand, now owned by Matt Shatto, has locations in Merriam, Waldo, the River Market, Prairie Village, Olathe and Overland Park.
Its Shawnee spot at 22350 W. 66th St. will open in early July.
The company recently launched a franchise program and opened its first out-of-state location in Omaha. Other spots are planned for Bentonville, Arkansas; St. Louis; Nashville; Denver; Oklahoma City; Tulsa; and Wichita.
