The smell of fresh coffee and chocolate-glazed Timbits is set to waft through Crown Center.

Canadian coffee giant Tim Hortons announced Tuesday it will open a location at the Kansas City shopping center by the end of the year.

The company has signed on for a 1,216-square-foot space on Level 1 of the Crown Center Shops. The new spot will offer counter service, with seating available in the atrium and a menu that spans breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“We are proud to welcome this respected brand to Crown Center,” said Stacey Paine, president of Crown Center Redevelopment Corporation. “We believe the unique tastes of Tim Hortons will appeal to customers from our nearby offices and hotels, as well as visitors to our shops and attractions.”

A staple north of the border with nearly 4,000 locations in Canada and more than 6,000 worldwide, Tim Hortons recently announced the opening of its first area location, at 1900 NW Highway 7 in Blue Springs. Construction at Crown Center will begin soon, with doors expected to open by late 2025.

Franchise owner Hossam Shahin said two additional metro locations are already in the pipeline, targeting openings by early 2026.
