National smoothie chain will open new location in Kansas City’s Power and Light District
Tropical Smoothie Cafe is coming to the Power and Light District.
The national chain plans a spring opening at 1360 Walnut St., just north of Chipotle Mexican Grill.
“Adding this vibrant offering to our diverse dining scene is important because it expands our offerings for visitors seeking better-for-you and convenient dining options,” Power and Light President John Moncke said in a news release.
Tropical Smoothie Cafe operates 15 locations in the Kansas City area, serving smoothies, bowls, flatbreads and wraps. Popular options include the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Wrap, the PB Banana Crunch Flatbread, the Island Green Smoothie and the Bahama Mama Smoothie.
This will be Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s first location in KC south of the Missouri River.
Other recent additions to the Power and Light District include Three Dog Bakery, The Yard Milkshake Bar and HomeGrown.
