Chipotle news in KC: Opening set for State Line location, plus an update on 39th Street
Roughly a year after announcing plans to construct a new building on the former Google Fiber lot at 1814 Westport Road, Chipotle has an opening date for that location.
The burrito chain’s grand opening will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19, a representative for the company said.
Hours will be 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The new location near State Line Road has indoor seating as well as a “Chipotlane” drive-thru to pick up online orders.
And for Volker neighborhood residents wondering whether an existing Chipotle a few blocks away on 39th Street would close after the Westport Road location opened: It will not.
“The location at 1713 W. 39th St. will remain open,” the Chipotle rep confirmed.
Chipotle is currently hiring crew members for the Westport Road location.
