Palacio Maya Mexican Restaurant is opening a Lenexa location in the next couple months, moving in where another Mexican restaurant operated.

It will open at 9720 Quivira Road, in the former Black Agave Tequila Mexican spot, said Realtor Bill Maas of Block & Company, Inc., Realtors. Black Agave opened in 2021.

Palacio Maya has one other location, in Independence, at 4810 S. Arrowhead Drive. Its menu offerings include chicken fajitas, supreme enchiladas, carne asada burritos and more.

Palacio will join a growing number of Mexican restaurants in Johnson County.

Campesino Mexican Grill & Cantina opened in the old Stroud’s in Mission at 5405 Johnson Drive in December. Los Gallitos Fresh Mexican Grill also recently opened in Mission at 6508 Martway St.
