This new Chinese restaurant in KC has 16 seats, 12 dishes: ‘Simple menu, fast service’
Bo’s Kitchen, a fast-casual Chinese food concept from the owners of the local chain Bo Lings, is now open in the River Market.
The address is 108 E. Fifth St., about a half block east of the Bo Lings location that closed in 2021.
“Bo Lings has a full menu, as well as dim sum,” said Richard Ng, who owns the restaurant with his wife, Far Ling. “At Bo’s Kitchen, we are focused on a simple menu, fast service, fresh ingredients.”
The restaurant, which seats 16 and has a small patio, has 12 items on its menu. Those include bao buns for $6 (pork belly, crispy chicken or vegetarian, served with sour cabbage, crushed peanut and cilantro); noodle bowls ($12); and Sichuan chicken dumplings served with soy garlic chili sauce (six for $7).
Customers can order at the counter from a self-service touchscreen for dine-in service or online for carryout.
Hours at Bo’s Kitchen are Tuesday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m, Friday to Saturday 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed Mondays.
“It’s a quicker pace of lifestyle in this neighborhood (than Bo Lings’ other locations),” Ng said. “People walk around the City Market during the day and come home to the lofts at night. We think they want something convenient like this.”
