Bo Lings to close a Kansas City restaurant, reopen nearby mostly for carryout orders
After more than 14 years in the City Market, Bo Lings Chinese Restaurant will close at 20 E. Fifth St. on Oct. 31.
It will then open a new quick-service concept a half-block to the east at 108 E. Fifth in the spring. The new location will have a few seats indoors and a small patio.
“Our lease was up and this location is doing a lot more carryout. So the new location will be quick-service, limited menu and mostly to-go,” said Richard Ng, owner with his wife, Theresa. “Carryout is a big part of our business.”
He is still working on the menu for the new concept.
City Market officials couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.
Bo Lings also has locations in the Country Club Plaza area, Lenexa, Overland Park and Zona Rosa, and will be opening in the new Kansas City International Airport terminal in 2023.
