Winter Skies is back, with drinks, dining, KC views from the 42nd floor. Here’s when
The iconic Skies restaurant is welcoming back patrons for the second year in a row as part of a Winter Skies pop-up bar.
For years, Kansas Citians enjoyed dining high above downtown on the 42nd floor of the Hyatt Regency (now the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel) at 2345 McGee St.
The city was abuzz last year when the Sheraton announced Skies would return after an 11-year absence, though it would no longer rotate as it did in its heyday. Customers clambered to get a spot as tickets sold out almost instantaneously. Winter Skies went on to offer reservations for more dates.
Starting Oct. 30, the popup will sell tickets again this year — three-hour time slots for Nov. 16 and 18, the Sheraton announced Tuesday.
Winter Skies shared photos of its panoramic windows and dining room bedecked with Christmas lights, wreaths and snowflakes.
The announcement detailed that the pop-up would work with Restless Spirits Distilling Co. to craft winter cocktails to go along with its new “expansive food menu.”
Ticket prices were not included in the announcement, nor was the exact time the tickets will go on sale. Last year, tickets for a two-hour window sold for $35.
A portion of this year’s tickets will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Winter Skies’ post said.
Winter Skies did not respond to The Star’s requests for comment. Patrons can stay in the loop with updates on the Skies’ social media pages and by following ticket sales on Eventbrite.
Additional dates also have not been announced, however, last year Winter Skies sold tickets in increments throughout the holiday season.
