Kansas City’s Pizza Tascio was set to open its seventh location on Friday, this one in Waldo, spreading more calzones and nutella dessert pizza throughout the area.

The location at 409 W. Gregory Blvd. was set to open with its normal hours — 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays.

The New York-style pizzeria took the former location of Classic Cookie, which closed in January.

The restaurant opened its first location in North Kansas City at 1111 Burlington St. in the beginning of 2022.

Pizza Tascio now has locations in Lee’s Summit at 1694 N.W. Chipman Road, Overland Park at 6705 W. 119th St., and near Westport at 1806 W. 39th St., as well as in Lawrence and St. Joseph.

Pizza Tascio serves cheesy breadsticks, supreme and veggie pizza, and a special “upside down” pizza (cheese first, then sauce).

Operator Gian Lombardino said the staff was gearing up for a busy opening night.

“We’ve already had a lot of people calling in, trying to walk in,” he said.
