A seventh KC-area Texas Roadhouse opens in Johnson County, with a twist in the kitchen
A new Texas Roadhouse in Overland Park opened Monday, the seventh of the popular steakhouse chain in the Kansas City area.
The restaurant’s top dishes include its loaded baked potato, grilled sirloin steak and baked bread covered in honey cinnamon butter.
The new location at 9761 Metcalf Ave. is one of the first in the country to operate with a “digital kitchen” system, said Operations Manager Jason Lester.
With screens at each prep station, the digital system aims to improve on the old paper ticket method of taking orders. Lester said this means customers receive their ribs and buttered rolls as quickly as possible.
“We’re going to be better, faster, stronger,” he said.
Other locations include 11973 S. Strang Line Road in Olathe and 740 N.W. Blue Parkway in Lee’s Summit, but Lester said this one holds especially dear to his heart.
“It’s pretty much the most beautiful Texas Roadhouse I’ve ever seen,” he said, with a chuckle.
Texas Roadhouse is open from 3 to 10 p.m. Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
