Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que teams with Lawrence brewery on limited-edition craft beer

Free State Brewing Co.

Local favorite Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que has a limited-edition pizza collaboration going with Minsky’s Pizza Cafe & Bar.

Now it is doing another collaboration sure to be equally popular.

It teamed up with Lawrence’s Free State Brewing Co. on Joe’s 180 Lager. The 5.0% ABV is available for a limited time at many grocery stores and retail liquor stores in the Kansas City metro and Lawrence.

The 180 name comes from the perfect score in some Kansas City barbecue contests. Joe’s previously said it also is their code to excel in all aspects of the operation — food, service and relationships with customers and staff.

Joe’s traces its roots to 1996 and has restaurants in Leawood, Olathe and Kansas City, Kansas.

Free State Brewing Co. was founded in 1989 on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence.
