Pizza, wings, pasta, arcade. Arizona chain opens new location in the Kansas City area

Peter Piper Pizzeria has softly opened in the Restaurant Pavilion at Ward Parkway Center with a grand opening scheduled for June 22.

The “eatertainment” restaurant specializes in hand-tossed pizzas but also has arcade games.

Its specialty pizzas include The Werx (pepperoni, mushrooms, ham, beef, green peppers, black olives and red onions), Chicago Classic (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, herbs and spices), and the Vegetarian (mushrooms, green peppers, red onions, black olives, tomatoes, herbs and spices). Customers also can build their own pizzas.

The pizzas are baked in a custom stone deck pizza oven.

It also wings; Italian sausage lasagna; chicken, mushroom and spinach Alfredo bake; macaroni and cheese; salads; handmade breadsticks; garlic cheese bread; pepperoni rolls; bruschetta; mozzarella sticks; desserts such as cinnamon crunch (pan dough with cinnamon and brown sugar spread and drizzled with icing) and double chocolate brownies with caramel, chocolate drizzle and whipped cream); craft beer and wine.

The restaurant is at 8809 State Line Road (in the former Hurts Donut Co. space).

A grand opening will start at 10:30 a.m. June 22 and include food samplings, free game play and a $75 meal credit to the first 75 customers.

Peter Piper Pizzeria is a new fast casual concept by Arizona-based Peter Piper Pizza. The first location opened in March at 15139 W. 119th St. in Olathe.
