A Mexican/American brunch restaurant plans to open in midtown on Monday.

Sunrise on 39th’s menu will include classic and garden Benedicts, a variety of omelets (including Denver, Mexican, Philly steak and cheese, and mushroom), sandwiches, frittatas and skillets (such as one with salmon, onion, jalapeno, cherry tomatoes, cheddar cheese and eggs).

It also will have breakfast enchiladas, veggie burritos, French toast, chilaquiles, country fried chicken, pancakes, and Divorced Eggs (two fried corn tortillas with two eggs over easy, and house-made red and white sauces).

Hours will tentatively be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Salvador Tule, owner of Los Tules Restaurante Cantina in downtown Kansas City, and Maria Vasquez are the owners of the new restaurant at 809 W. 39th St., Suite 110, just west of Southwest Trafficway.

“It will be an interesting combination of American and Mexican brunch,” he said.

Tule also was a partner in a previous restaurant in the space, Queen Priscilla’s. It closed in mid-2022.
