Chick-fil-A plans new $31M distribution center in Johnson County, opening next year
Chick-fil-A Inc. is planning a new $31 million distribution center in Olathe.
Chick-fil-A Supply, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Atlanta-based company, will be at the Lone Elm Commerce Center, 16521 S. Erickson St., and will service Chick-fil-A restaurants in the region.
“The Kansas City area is a prime location to invest in our business, create jobs, and grow our supply chain operation,” Josh Grote, executive director of Chick-fil-A Supply, said in a statement. “The region has a deep pool of skilled talent that we know will excel in serving the franchise Operators, licensees and team members delivering an authentic Chick-fil-A experience at each of our locations.”
It will be the chain’s fifth distribution center in the U.S. and the first in Kansas. It is projected to be at full operation in early 2024.
The 148,000-square-foot center will have more than 60 employees. Those interested in job opportunities at the new location can visit Chick-fil-A’s Careers website.
“We are thrilled that Chick-fil-A Supply has chosen Olathe to open its distribution center,” said Tim McKee, CEO of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, in a statement. “This investment in our market is another big win for our community and Chamber.”
