West Plaza’s Johnny Jo’s Pizzeria is expanding with a new location in the Crossroads.

It is taking a space in Parlor food hall at 1707 Locust St. and plans to open Wednesday.

But it will do a pop-up in Parlor this weekend: from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, and brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Founder John Milone Jr. first bought a pizza stone and started a part-time business working out of his Kansas City apartment 16 years ago. He opened his West Plaza restaurant, at 1209 W. 47th St., in 2012.

He had been parking one of his pizza trucks in the Crossroads six days a week before the pandemic. The Parlor space opened up in late 2022.

“There’s a lot of things going on downtown and I wanted more foot traffic and to get my name out there,” Milone said.

The menu includes stone oven pizzas, build-your-own and specialty pizzas such as The Meathead (with pepperoni, Virginia ham, Italian sausage and hamburger), and the Tom & Art (with tomato and artichoke on garlic butter herb sauce and topped with mozzarella and provolone).

It also will have Dutch Crunch sandwiches including the Marco Polo (with pepperoni, ham, salami, house-made garlic pesto sauce, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, cherry peppers and provolone), garlic knots and Sicilian cheesecake cupcakes.

Providence Pizzeria Co. and Khalia’s Pizzeria had previously operated in the Parlor space.
