South Overland Park’s Papa Keno’s Pizzeria has temporarily closed.

The franchisee was having trouble staffing the location at 14850 Metcalf Ave. He tried opening limited hours but still did not have enough help.

Now the corporate office in Lawrence has stepped up.

“So we are going to help him operate or find some way to assist him,” said David Hawley, president and owner of Papa Keno’s Franchise Systems LLC. “If I have to rebuild a new staff it will take at least a month to get people trained properly.”

The location has been open for nearly two years. It was last inspected in January when it had five priority violations.
