Kauffman Stadium is announcing some new menu items in time for the Kansas City Royals’ home opener Thursday, and perhaps the most outrageous appears under the label “unlikely, yet delicious, food combinations.”

It’s the BBQ Reese’s Sandwich, with pulled pork, Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce, crumbled Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and bacon bits. It will be offered in The BBQ Pit, Section 251, for $10.95.

The sandwich is one of concessionaire Aramark’s Dare to Pair food items getting rolled out at several stadiums across the country.

How does it compare to some other Dare to Pair items in other cities? The Philadelphia Phillies will have the PB&J Burger with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly; the Houston Astros will have La Pina Dog, a grilled beef hot dog topped with fresh smoked pineapple; and the Colorado Rockies’ Elvis Shake will have crème de banana, soft serve ice cream, peanut butter sauce, Cracker Jack and candied bacon.

In other barbecue news, The K also will have a brisket grilled cheese sandwich with smoked brisket, barbecue sauce and cheddar cheese on Texas toast in KC Press, Section 230, for $9.89.

Other new menu items:

Wings: House-smoked chicken wings served with an assortment of dipping sauces. Flings & Wings, Section 252, for $12.89.

Signatures at the K: A new concept (Section 314) will offer a range of favorite dishes from the stadium’s Rivals, Craft & Draft, and Diamond Club — all in one location.

Cocktails: Frozen Ropes (Section 216) will offer different frozen cocktails in a souvenir KC Royals beverage bat, along with draft and packaged beer, water, and soft drinks.

In past years, some of The K’s outlandish offerings put it on national “craziest ballpark food” lists — a cheese-stuffed, tempura-battered burger in 2016; a jumbo hot dog with fried egg, bacon, cheddar cheese and sausage gravy in 2017.

More: There will be additional locations for Bullpen Burger (Sections 250, 308, 413) and Tenders Love and Chicken (Sections 206, 308, 427).

As for retail, Kauffman will have the new Shop the Show, offering four new Royals jerseys and other apparel.
