Locally owned KC Style Haus plans a June opening on the Country Club Plaza.

Deserae Minor is taking the former RE: emporium space at 4704 Wyandotte St., once part of the Plaza Theater.

KC Style Haus will have merchandise from local vendors including handcrafted and hand-painted furniture, home decor, apparel, jewelry, specialty food items, designer pet accessories, locally themed T-shirts and more.

“I’m very excited. I can’t sleep right now. And all the vendors are so excited,” Minor said. “The Plaza is always going to be a Kansas City staple.”

She has owned and operated The Dusted Attic in the West Bottoms for seven years, and The Corner House Furniture and Boutique in south Overland Park since late 2019.

RE: closed earlier this month. The owner blamed the ongoing impact of the pandemic and other factors for not renewing the lease.

Meanwhile, locally owned women’s clothing shop Kindred, currently at 422 Nichols Road, plans to relocate this week to the former Pinstripes space at 601 W. 48th St. It opened on the Plaza in late 2020.
