Booze & burritos: Take a look inside Kansas City’s new Taco Bell Cantina in Westport
Kansas City’s first Taco Bell Cantina has softly opened in Westport, with alcoholic drinks and a sports theme featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.
The restaurant is on the first floor of the Westley on Broadway apartments, at Westport Road and Broadway. The grand opening will be from 6 to 9 p.m. March 4 with decorations, DJ Hydan (a change from an earlier announcement), giveaways and more.
Menu items include Taco Bell favorites such as crunchy and soft tacos, burritos, bowls, chalupas, nachos and quesadillas. It also has party packs such as a dozen tacos for $20.99, along with combos and value meals.
But the cantinas also sell beer including local craft beers, wines, sangria, mixed drinks and Twisted Freezes, an icy drink that can be customized with vodka, tequila or rum.
The goal is also to be an event venue, a place where customers can gather for special events. It has about 20 TVs, VIP rooms, and indoor and outdoor bars.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. daily. It serves breakfast until 11 a.m.
The location has been in the works for a year.
The franchise, Diversified Restaurant Group, previously said they liked the built-in customer base in the apartment building at 4111 Broadway, the visibility of the location at the high traffic intersection, and the walkability of the area.
It has 295 Taco Bells in four states (Kansas, Missouri, California and Nevada), as well as 26 Arby’s. This is its sixth Taco Bell Cantina.
