Drunken Fish, a sushi restaurant and lounge, has closed in the Power & Light District after more than a decade.

In a statement, owner Munsok So said he decided not to renew his lease because “the rent got too expensive.”

He opened in a 7,200-square-foot corner space at 14 E. 14th Street in 2011. The menu included sushi, sashimi, entrees such as teriyaki with salmon, stir-fry noodles and fried rice.

It also operated in Leawood’s Town Center Crossing for about three years before closing in mid-2016.

It has locations in the St. Louis area and it is planning a new one in Edwardsville, Illinois.
