Multiple Kansas City area health violations: Jose Pepper’s, Made in KC, Hakata Sushi

Here are area restaurants with seven or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for seven or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available).

Hakata Sushi & Hibachi, 11658 W. 135th St., Overland Park, had 15 priority violations during a Jan. 28 routine inspection.

Made in KC Marketplace, Lenexa City Center, 8703 Penrose Lane, Lenexa, had nine priority violations during a Jan. 26 first operational inspection after licensing.

Jose Pepper’s Border Grill & Cantina, 14373 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, had seven priority violations during a Jan. 25 routine inspection.

Red Pepper Chinese Restaurant, 821 Iowa St., Lawrence, had seven priority violations during a Jan. 27 inspection following a complaint.

Starbucks, Crown Center, 2450 Grand Blvd., Suite 132, had seven critical violations during a Jan. 28 routine inspection.

Drury Inn & Suites Kansas City Airport, restaurant/deli, 7900 N.W.Tiffany Springs Parkway, had seven critical violations during a Jan. 26 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during a Jan. 28 follow-up inspection.
