Eight new restaurants, coffee shops in Kansas City area: BBQ, seafood, pizza, more

Here are some end of the year updates on restaurants that recently opened across the Kansas City metro:

▪ Jousting Pigs BBQ, Legends Outlets Kansas City, 1702 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas. The menu includes brisket, burnt ends, slabs, pulled pork, turkey breast, sausage, ham, brisket chili and cheesy corn topped with chopped brisket.

It also has a Liberty location.

▪ Dancing Crab Cajun Seafood & Bar, a seafood boil restaurant, at Legends Outlets, 1713 Village West Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas.

▪ Guy’s Deli & Pizza, Westport, 4058 Pennsylvania Ave., is gearing up for its grand opening on Jan. 10 when the deli menu will roll out.

▪ Friendly Bean Coffee Co., coffee shop with pastries baked in-house, Woodneath Library Center, 8900 N.E. Flintlock Road. It plans a grand opening in January.

It has had a location at 420 N.E. Barry Road since 2008.

▪ Love Tea, Legends Outlets, 1811 Village West Parkway, Suite O-123, Kansas City, Kansas, offers bubble tea, fruit slushies, coffee, tea punch, tea and dessert bowls.

▪ Smallcakes & More, Hy-Vee Arena, 1800 Genessee St., Suite 202, offers a variety of Smallcakes cupcakes as well as yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit cups, chocolate covered strawberries, and mini-cheesecakes.

▪ KC Halal Restaurant has opened at 4422 St. John Ave. The menu and other details weren’t immediately available.

▪ WingStand by Jefferson’s has softly opened at 7715 State Line Road, offering wings, jumbo tenders, chicken sandwiches, sides and more. The flagship location opened this fall in Mission.
