Two downtown eateries will have new spots in Crown Center.

After more than a decade downtown, Zaina Mediterranean Cuisine & Catering will be relocating to Level 1 of the Crown Center Shops, 2450 Grand Blvd.

The restaurant will continue to operate at 1108 Grand Blvd. until the new location opens, probably in early-to-mid-December.

It serves Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Greek dishes.

Menu items will include spanakopita, grilled shrimp with garlic parsley sauce, hummus, stuffed grape leaves, soups and salads, shawarma (beef, lamb or chicken), falafel sandwiches, gyros, and entrees such as chicken curry, kebabs, and grilled salmon.

It is taking the 1,868-square-foot former d’Bronx Deli & Pizzeria space and will have about 40 seats for dine-in.

Zaina was founded in 2010 and named after the owner’s daughter.

Ayman Hassan, Abraham Salem and chef Salah Harzi purchased the restaurant in 2013.

In other news for the Crown Center complex:

Spokes Coffee Cafe Cyclery will take a 1,684-square-foot space on the lobby level of the 2460 Pershing office building. It plans a spring opening when offices are expected to fill up again.

“They can come here without going outside, and we hope to cater to many of the offices in the area,” said Dan Walsh, founder and owner of Spokes, which has two locations downtown. “We kind of found our niche in condensed office areas.”

Hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Spokes will serve breakfast and lunch. Menu items will include Messenger coffee, pastries, Southwest breakfast burritos, waffle sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, Buffalo grilled cheese sandwiches, Cuban melts, turkey chipotle salads and wraps.

It will have some outdoor seating.

Spokes will take the spot of the Filling Station, which opened in 2018 and was owned by Messenger Coffee Co. It closed during the pandemic shelter-in-place order and never reopened, according to Crown Center officials.
