Kansas City area health code violations: 888 Market, Sakura and Brookside sushi, more

Here are area restaurants with seven or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for seven or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available).

888 International Market, 10118 W. 119th St., Overland Park, had 17 priority violations during an Oct. 14 inspection following a complaint.

Sakura Sushi Train, 7474 Nieman Road, Shawnee, had 15 priority violations during an Oct. 18 inspection following a complaint.

Daylight Donuts, 619 E. Front St., Suite A, Bonner Springs, had seven priority violations during an Oct. 14 routine inspection.

Sonic Drive-In, 2401 W. 31st St., Lawrence, had seven priority violations during an Oct. 11 routine inspection.

Tokyo Sushi, 239 Elm St., Lawrence, had seven priority violations during an Oct. 14 inspection for an expired license.

Moti Mahal Authentic Indian Cuisine, Westport, 4113 Pennsylvania Ave., had nine critical violations during an Oct. 14 routine inspection.

Brookside Sushi, 408 E. 63rd St., had eight critical violations during an Oct. 14 routine inspection.

Church’s Chicken, 2600 E. Gregory Blvd., had eight critical violations during an Oct. 12 routine inspection.

The Bar West Plaza, 1121 W. 47th St., seven critical violations during an Oct. 12 routine inspection.

Volleyball Beach, 13105 Holmes Road, had seven critical violations during an Oct. 15 routine inspection.
