Kansas City’s Ruby Jean’s coming to Johnson County with smoothies, breakfast burritos

Chris Goode is opening his first Ruby Jean’s Juicery in Kansas.

He is taking a spot on the east side of Town Center Plaza, 11828 Roe Ave., in Leawood, and plans to open later this year.

“We have long had a demand from customers to come over to the Kansas side,” Goode said.

Goode originally opened Ruby Jean’s Juicery near Westport in mid-2015, naming it after his late grandmother, and concentrating on healthy menu items. His flagship location is now at 3000 Troost Ave. He also has a location with a limited menu in Whole Foods Market by the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The new Leawood location also will have a more limited menu than the Troost operation.

Breakfast, lunch and grab-and-go items will include smoothies, performance shakes, oatmeal bowls, breakfast burritos, yogurt parfaits, vegan broccoli salad, salmon salad, and sweet potato brownies.
