Kansas City area health code violations: Hy-Vee, Joy Wok, Asian Buffet, Tanner’s, more

Here are area restaurants with seven or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for seven or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available).

Hy-Vee, 6655 Martway St., Mission, had 18 priority violations during an Aug. 9 joint inspection.

Joy Wok Super Buffet & Hibachi Grill, 11920 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, had 15 priority violations during an Aug. 4 inspection following a complaint.

Hy-Vee, 8501 W. 95th St., Overland Park, had 11 priority violations during an Aug. 4 routine inspection.

Jose Pepper’s Border Grill & Cantina, Legends Outlets Kansas City, 1851 Village West Parkway, Suite K-131, Kansas City, Kansas, had eight priority violations during an Aug. 3 inspection following a complaint.

Tanner’s Bar & Grill, 22374 W. 66th St., Shawnee, had eight priority violations during an Aug. 10 routine inspection.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:

Asian Buffet, 511 N.W. Barry Road, had 10 critical violations during an Aug. 6 routine inspection.

The Granfalloon Restaurant & Bar, Country Club Plaza, 608 Ward Parkway, had seven critical violations during an Aug. 2 routine inspection.

Texas Roadhouse, 8051 N. Roanridge Road, had seven critical violations during a July 30 routine inspection. It had no critical violations during an Aug. 6 follow-up inspection.
