Overland Park shop Razzleberry, which sells everything from T-shirts to jams to hair bows, many from local companies, has relocated to the Country Club Plaza, signing a one-year lease for a spot along bustling 47th Street.

“We have the snarky stuff that makes you smile and we have the good deals,” said owner Amy Bringenberg. “They aren’t mass produced items. Something a little bit different, a little bit off the cuff.”

Razzleberry stocks specialty food products including Mango Tango jam and spice blends from Beautiful Day Farms in Richmond, Missouri; apparel from Paradise Boutique in Edwardsville, Kansas (owned by Bringenberg’s sister-in-law), and Doodle + Lulu Designs in Kansas City; and stickers by Emmy Henning, who is engaged to Bringenberg’s son, Austin. Austin has a line of T-shirts.

Snarky items can include pen sets with such lines as: “As fun as stepping on a Lego,” and a T-shirt with the words “I’m a nightmare before coffee.”

Henning did a large mural of angel wings — designed for selfies — on an upper level overlooking the store.

Razzleberry got its start when Bringenberg went searching for cute hair bows for her infant daughter, Isabell, in 2008. She balked at the $8 to $10 retail prices and decided to create her own. At Isabell’s first birthday party, the bows were such a hit, Bringenberg’s friends encouraged her to start a business.

As her children grew, she started designing, manufacturing and selling children’s clothing, as well as embellishing ready-to-wear lines under Razzleberry Kids. In 2017, she opened the Razzleberry shop in downtown Overland Park with a broader line of merchandise. It closed in June to relocate to the Plaza. Austin is the manager.

Bringenberg also is the director of clinical education for the diagnostic medical sonography program at Concorde Career College.

She said Razzleberry needed more space with good foot traffic and in an area that wasn’t oversaturated with local boutiques. She took the former Nani Nalu Beachwear Boutique space at 421 W. 47th St.
