Kansas City area health code violations: 2 Johnson County BBQs, a Westport bar, more

Here are area restaurants with seven or more priority or critical health code violations, with highlighted links to some original public record reports by city or county health inspectors.

Restaurants correct most violations at the time of the original inspection or shortly thereafter. Links to the follow-up inspections show how each establishment has corrected or is working to correct any remaining violations.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture cited these operations for seven or more priority health code violations (direct links are not available).

El Pollo Real, 748 Washington Blvd., Kansas City, Kansas, had 11 priority violations during a June 23 routine inspection.

Hy-Vee, 7620 State Line Road, Prairie Village, had 10 priority violations during a June 23 inspection following a complaint.

Q39, 11051 Antioch Road, Overland Park, had seven priority violations during a June 23 inspection following a complaint.

Wyandot Barbeque, 7215 W. 75th St., Overland Park, had seven priority violations during a June 28 inspection following a complaint.

The Kansas City Health Department cited these operations for seven or more critical health code violations:

Westport Ale House, 4128 Broadway, had 10 critical violations during a June 26 routine inspection.

El Maguey Restaurant, 7831 N. Oak Trafficway, had nine critical violations during a June 29 routine inspection.

Rainbow China, 8017 State Line Road, had seven critical violations during a June 25 routine inspection. It had three critical violations during an inspection later that day.
