Whiskey tours, all-you-can-eat ribs: 9 ways to celebrate Father’s Day in Kansas City
Dad is about to get his special day, and in terms of gifts, it will be a record high one.
According to the Nation Retail Federation’s annual Father’s Day survey, conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, total spending is expected to be more than $20.1 billion, the highest ever. Last year, spending hit $17 billion. The survey of 7,971 consumers was conducted May 3 to 11.
Survey respondents indicated they plan to spend an average of $174 on Father’s Day items, or $26 more than last year. Nearly half of the increase comes from spending more on special outings, clothing and consumer electronics. The number of consumers planning a special outing is back up to pre-pandemic levels.
