Four new Taco Bells in the Kansas City area part of developer, franchise group effort

An area developer and franchise group are behind four new area Taco Bell restaurants.

The new locations:

1420 Prospect Ave., opened Dec. 30.

6350 Johnson Drive, Mission, scheduled to open in February. A Taco Bell had previously operated nearby on Mission Road under a different franchisee.

5700 E. Bannister Road by Cerner. Spring opening. Taco Bell had previously operated a location on Bannister, west of the Interstate.

601 Metropolitan Ave., Leavenworth, near the entrance to Fort Leavenworth. Summer opening.

First Street Development in Kansas City is the build-to-suit developer for the area franchisee, Royal City Bell LLC, a sister company.

Max DiCarlo, director of real estate and development, Midwest, for First Street, said Royal City Bell purchased 39 area franchise locations in 2017, and the remaining 16 corporate-owned Taco Bells in 2018, but not the co-brands with KFC. It has since opened several new locations, including in Grain Valley, Olathe, Smithville, Blue Parkway, and two in Lee’s Summit, as well as a new prototype design in Bethany, Mo.
