Amazon appears to be moving forward with 4-Star in KC’s Country Club Plaza store

Amazon is moving along on plans for a Country Club Plaza location.

It has a permit for the former Tesla space at 450 Nichols Road, and is seeking a permit for an Amazon 4-Star sign.

Amazon 4-Star stores carry items from the most popular categories, including consumer electronics, devices, home, kitchen, toys, books and games. Every product is rated at least four stars by Amazon’s customers — a top seller, or new and trending on amazon.com, according to the company’s website.

Unlike Amazon Go stores, no food items are sold at Amazon 4-Star.

Amazon said media questions must be submitted via email. But officials have not responded to email requests seeking comment on the new store. Plaza officials declined to comment.

Amazon lists more than a dozen 4-Star stores with another dozen under construction. The Kansas City location is not listed.

Tesla relocated to 10111 State Line Road.
