Plaza restaurant will not reopen after COVID-19 shutdown: ‘It’s been devastating’
Stacy Plamondon purchased the three area t.Loft restaurants a year ago and was building up the business when the COVID-19 shutdown started.
Now the Country Club Plaza location, 200 W. 47th St., will not reopen. Its lease was up this summer, and Plamondon said she doesn’t have the funds to reopen it or move it to a new location.
“It’s been devastating to me, and we don’t know what June will look like,” she said.
She is still looking at options for the location in Leawood’s Park Place, while concentrating on the eatery at 8025 State Line Road. She said a licensee owns the Lawrence shop.
The founder of t.Loft opened the Plaza location in 2015, taking the former N. Valentino spot.
The menu includes fresh-pressed juices, gourmet teas, protein shakes, protein balls, fruit and grain bowls, salads, soups and smoothies.
In April, Parkway Social Kitchen said it would not reopen on the Plaza following the COVID-19 shutdown.
