Convenience store, gas and pizza: Casey’s aims to build on Northland restaurant site

Casey’s General Stores wants to open a site across from Metro North Crossing.

The Iowa-based chain is going through planning to demolish a former Taco Bueno and open a 6,176-square-foot convenience store with a gas station on the property at 503 N.W. Barry Road.

A Casey’s spokeswoman said the company hopes to start construction by 2021, depending on the permitting process.

Casey’s is a Fortune 500 company operating more than 2,200 convenience stores in 16 states. Founded in 1968, the company is now one of the largest convenience store retailers and pizza chains in the United States.

It offers such prepared foods as made-from-scratch pizzas, doughnuts, subs and sandwiches.
