Sprint executive Steven Elfman sets departure date
Sprint Corp. executive Steven Elfman is leaving the wireless company later this month.
A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission said Elfman will resign his post as president of products and services on Aug. 15. His employment agreement had been scheduled to run through Jan. 2, 2015.
In March, however, a Sprint spokeswoman said Elfman would leave later this year. A change in his contract provides the Elfman will be paid through Jan. 2 and that some other compensation benefits will extend until then.
Elfman stepped down as president of network, technology and operations in March. He is a long-time colleague of chief executive Dan Hesse.
Previous changes to Elfman’s contract had allowed him move to the Seattle area and work there. They also ensured he would report directly to Hesse.
