Euronet Worldwide reports big increase in quarterly profits
Euronet Worldwide Inc. reported a three-fold increase in earnings in the fourth-quarter compared with year-earlier totals, as the electronic payments service company generated a 12 percent increase in transactions.
The Leawood-based company earned $30.1 million in the final three months of 2014, up from $10 million in the same quarter of 2013.
Revenue climbed 23 percent to $462 million. The company said an expansion in its network of automated teller machines helped boost transactions by 12 percent to 677 million during the fourth quarter.
For the year, Euronet earned $101.5 million, up from $87.5 million in 2013.
