The owners of Boulevard Brewing Co. have promoted the Kansas City-based brewery’s longtime chief financial officer to the post of president over three U.S. operations.
Jeff Krum has become president of Boulevard Brewing as well as Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, N.Y., and Duvel Moortgat USA, which handles imports of Belgian beers the parent company brews. Each is part of Belgium-based Duvel Moortgat NV, which bought Boulevard Brewing in 2013.
In 2014, Krum became vice president of corporate affairs for the combined companies.
“Jeff’s deep roots in our company, extensive experience and strong commitment to our organization make us confident he is the right person to oversee our U.S. operations,” Michel Moortgat, chief executive of Duvel Moortgat NV, said in an announcement Wednesday.
Boulevard confirmed that Krum’s new duties will allow him to stay in Kansas City, where he is active as a member of the board of the Kansas City Streetcar Authority, the Downtown Transportation Development District and the Kansas City Economic Development Corp. He also co-founded Ripple Glass, the recycling operation.
Krum did not assume a role with Firestone Walker, a California brewery that Duvel Moortgat NV bought last year. It continues to be run by its founders.
A group of senior management works with all of those businesses and will work with Krum.
The posts Krum gained were held by Simon Thorpe, who will remain as an adviser through the end of this month. Moortgat, in the announcement, praised Thorpe’s work and leadership, wishing him “the very best in his future endeavors.”
