Bourbon Street shuts down in Zona Rosa after health code violations
Less than a year after opening in the Northland’s Zona Rosa, Bourbon Street Cajun Cuisine has shut its doors.
Owner Suman Kandagatla opened the restaurant in a corner location, near Dillard’s at 8741 N.W. Prairie View Road, in October 2015.
But the Kansas City Health Department suspended its license after a July 5 inspection for “excessive roaches.” During a follow-up inspection on July 18, the inspector said there wasn’t any furniture in the restaurant and the owner was not returning phone calls.
Kandagatla also has a Bourbon Street restaurant in downtown St. Joseph. Kandagatla did not return phone calls but officials with Zona Rosa confirmed the closing.
Conscious Cafe closes in Riverside
Conscious Cafe, at 1827 N.W. Vivion Road in Riverside, has closed after about a year of operations. It offered breakfast and lunch items with a focus on fresh ingredients.
But now the owners have shut down the cafe to focus on a family member’s health problems.
