Country Club Bank will receive the 2015 business philanthropist award from Nonprofit Connect at the organization’s 31st annual awards event in May.

The bank is being honored for contributing funds and volunteers to several area nonprofit programs and events, a giving total that accounts for more than 8 percent of the bank’s annual net income.

Also at the event, Annette Bloch will be honored as the philanthropist of the year, acknowledging decades of multimillion-dollar gifts to the community, especially for cancer research and treatment centers.

George Guastello will receive the nonprofit professional award for his work as president and chief executive of Kansas City’s Union Station, which has stabilized funding, programming and occupants during his tenure.

Nonprofit Connect’s volunteer of the year honor will go to Peggy Borkon for her 26-year volunteer history, particularly for St. Luke’s Hospital, Children’s TLC and the American Heart and Stroke Association.

The awards luncheon, open to the public, will be held May 15. Go to npconnect.org for more information.
