MMGY Global expands to Europe

MMGY Global is putting more muscle behind the global part of its business.

The Kansas City-based marketing agency, which specializes in the travel and hospitality industries, has opened an office in Madrid, Spain. It’s the company’s first European office.

The three-person office will be led by Chris Pomeroy, a European travel marketing specialist who joined MMGY as its director of global strategies and client services. Pomeroy will be responsible for working with businesses, organizations and tourism destinations seeking to attract U.S. travelers, the company said.

He will also oversee any additional overseas expansion by MMGY in the future, the company said.

Last year, MMGY created Travel Consul, an international network of tourism marketing agencies. MMGY has 158 employees. It also has offices in New York City, Orlando, Fla., Fort Myers, Fla., and Denver.
