EPR Properties reports higher revenue and profit
EPR Properties reported an 11 percent increase in revenue during the second quarter and a boost in earnings.
The Kansas City-based real estate investment trust also increased its 2014 investment spending forecast by 10 percent. The company invests in entertainment, education, recreation and other properties.
For the three months that ended June 30, EPR said revenue increased to $91.8 million from $83 million in the second quarter last year.
Net income climbed to $34.8 million in the quarter, compared with $26.5 million for the same period in 2013.
EPR said its investment spending amounted to $251.3 million in the second quarter, which brought spending through the first half of the year to $319.7 million.
“These investments are supported by an increasingly strong balance sheet,” David Brain, EPR’s president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
