Three Kansas City health clinics get medical records grant

Swope Health Services, Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center and KC Care Clinic will be recipients of a $375,000 grant to connect to Missouri’s Health Information Exchange and exchange electronic medical records among themselves.

The funds, given to the Missouri Health Connection organization, are from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City. Additional funding from St. Luke’s Health System also will be used for the medical records upgrade, which affects about 68,000 patients at 17 clinic sites.

The health care foundation also announced support of Artists Helping the Homeless in the form of a secure, encrypted email service to safely send health-related emails to clinics and hospitals.
