CVS recalls organic tea because of possible salmonella
CVS Pharmacy has recalled select cartons of Gold Emblem Abound organic spiced herbal tea because of possible salmonella contamination, the drugstore chain announced.
The tea contains an ingredient that tested positive for salmonella in another product made by the manufacturer, according to the news release, which did not specify which ingredient. The recalled tea was packaged in 1.4-ounce cartons, the release said, and has a “best by” date of March 18, 2018, with a UPC code 0 50428 541043.
No other best-by date is affected by the recall.
About 200 cartons of the tea were sold before the recall, the company said. CVS said it isn’t aware of any illnesses related to the recalled product.
