Spin Neapolitan Pizza entering Dallas market

Locally owned Spin Neapolitan Pizza plans to open three corporate-owned restaurants in the Dallas area as “part of a careful, measured expansion plan.”

“We get a lot of inquiries from Texas, and Dallas is known as a place where people love to try new things, new restaurants, so there is interesting innovation there,” said Gail Lozoff, a founder and partner in Spin.

Another Spin partner, Mike Kramer, also lived in Dallas before recently returning to the Kansas City area.

Spin’s new Texas locations — the first corporate-owned locations outside the metro — are planned for:

Southlake Town Square, 1586 E. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, is scheduled to open in early November.

Canyon Creek Plaza, 348 Campbell Road, Richardson, is scheduled to open in late 2014 or early 2015.

1030 W. John W. Carpenter Freeway, Irving, (near Southern Methodist University) is scheduled to open in early 2015.

Spin collaborated with James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Smith on the Spin menu. It features a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, signature panini and Italian deli sandwiches, specialty pizzas and gelato ice creams.

Soups and salad dressings — as well as its pizza toppings, ingredients and dough — are prepared fresh daily.

Spin has a unique hybrid service system where customers order in the lobby but get full-service at the table.

Spin currently has area locations in Lee’s Summit, Lenexa, Olathe, Overland Park, Prairie Village, and south of the Country Club Plaza.

New area restaurants in the works are:

Crown Center (October opening planned)

Overland Park’s Corbin Park (December opening planned)

University of Central Missouri campus in Warrensburg (summer 2015 opening planned)

Franchisees also are expanding the brand in California, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
