A group of Kansas City business leaders went to Jefferson City on Wednesday to tell members of the Missouri House and others that Senate Joint Resolution 39 would be an economic killer.

The bill, which would permit businesses to refuse customers based on religious objection, has drawn ire from business, convention and tourism quarters.

The delegation, which took letters opposing the resolution, included representatives from the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, VisitKC, the Kansas City Sports Commission and the Mid-America Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
