Kansas City Life reports lower quarterly profits and revenue
Kansas City Life Insurance Co. said profits and revenue declined in the fourth quarter largely because of a decline in investment income.
The company reported net income of $6.1 million in the three months that ended Dec. 31, down from $7.7 million in the final quarter of 2014.
Revenue fell to $108.9 million in the fourth quarter from $117.7 million in the year-earlier period.
For the year, Kansas City Life earned $29.2 million on revenue of $440.8 million, down from $29.9 million on revenue of $465 million in 2014.
