Western Farm Show this weekend

The 2016 Western Farm Show runs Friday through Sunday at the American Royal Complex and will include more than 500 exhibitors of farm equipment, technology and other products.

The show’s hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets, available at the American Royal Box office, are $8 for teen-agers and older. Separate tickets are required for the tractor pulls at 6 p.m. Friday ($22) and Saturday ($27). More than $62,000 in prize money is expected to attract 120 drivers and tractors.

The show will include one-hour cooking classes at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, a low-stree livestock handling demonstration at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, and health and safety exhibits including free blood pressure and hearing tests and vision screening.
